Food that are tagged as aphrodisiacs are misconstrued for enervating sexual lust instead of its importance balancing the body with different vitamins and minerals that are needed for our health. Dark chocolate provide as antioxidants that increases vascular functions and decreases cholesterol and blood pressure. Oysters' components are carbohydrates, lipids and various proteins that give your body energy.  It also contains zinc which is a major factor in healing wounds. It is also a good resource in iron and calcium which are vital requirements for our body. Pineapple on the other hand, provides us with vitamin C that helps prevent cancer. It also has vitamin B1 for an added energy boost. Avocados, which is on the top list as aphrodisiacs provide potassium and beta carotene. They also have a large amount of saturated fat that reduces the risk of having a heart disease. Almonds, which are also a known aphrodisiac, are full of vitamin E essential for giving us a health skin and can also prevent heart sickness. They are also full of minerals such as magnesium, phosphorous and zinc. Alcohol, probably the best known aphrodisiac, though may not improve sexual arousal, lowers an individual's inhibition. If done moderately, it can also decrease chances of heart diseases and diabetes. Eggs are loaded with chorine, riboflavin and vitamin B12 that develop our memory, learning, metabolism of energy, eye health, and formation of red blood cells and maintenance of our central nervous system.

Our search for increasing sexual functions causes us to overlook the simple benefits of the food that we see around us.  It is important that we find a balance of what we prioritize in order to live a balanced, health and happy life.
